Soon, I will be riding in a van with my teammates up a winding, dusty road, crowded with people and sheep, heading to the outskirts of Arequipa, Peru.
There, with my team, we will continue our work from last year constructing a church building in an area too poor for water.
GET YOUR FAMILY'S FAITH LIFE MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
Want to get consistent sharing Jesus with your family and know it's making a difference? This 6 Faith Habits to Consistency checklist will give you quick ideas to steadily point your family to Jesus' amazing love.
The people we will meet will be hardy and ruddy, worn from hard living. But they will wear smiles, and their hearts will open to love us and to work with us.
Some will be the same faces and smiles we saw last year. We will be greeted by old friends and new. We will labor alongside each other, loving each other in the process.
Would you join in praying with me now for our trip?
Pray:
- for our team to communicate well and be united in Christ’s Spirit to love one another and the people we meet, even when we are emotionally and physically tired
- for our hosts, as they make our final arrangements and invest their time and energy into our coming
- for God’s love to be evident in all our actions and the way we speak to each other and treat each other
- for humble spirits, not thinking we know the best way to do things, but respecting the locals’ way of doing things
- for physical health for the team, as last year, the majority of the team got sick
- for our families and loved ones left in the U.S., for strength and comfort, that they will know we will be held in the Father’s mighty right hand
- for those we encounter, that they will want to know more about what brings us to come and serve them
- for the church building, that it will be a place of life, love, truth, refuge, and community for the people nearby
- for our hearts to be softened, moved, and changed by seeing God at work among a people so far away from our own culture

GET YOUR FAMILY'S FAITH LIFE MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
Praying for a God-filled trip to Peru for you all, Keeley! Looking forward to hearing about His work in and through your trip!
Thank you Lindsey! Can’t wait to catch up and get ready for Indonesia!
Dearest Keeley, Can’t find the “like” button, so this I hope will let you know I am praying for you. Keep in touch and let me know how everything is going.
Thank you for your prayers and for trying to find that pesky “Like” button. It’s not the same as the Facebook one, so it is a little confusing. It looks like a star on the page.
With all of this new technology and new ways to communicate…it is a good thing that our connection to God through prayer never has changed. It is a direct line without buttons or equipment. (I couldn’t find the “like” button either) But, I do know that He likes it when we pray and talk to Him.
Keeley and Team, please know that we are praying for you all daily and love getting specific things to pray for. Hope the sick members are doing better. What a blessing you all are to the Arequipa people.
Yes, yes. Prayer is so good and never changes. Thank you for your prayers. Everyone is feeling better so far, so keep it up!
Dear Keeley,
We are all praying at the Cathedral. You all were remembered at the Altar at the Ascension Day service tonight. And, of course, at the Evening Prayer service last night, when we did the Litany for Missions written just for the Peru team.
Sorry to hear some folks have been ill…and glad they are doing better.
Thank you Deacon Diana,
It’s so comforting to know and hear that you all have been specifically praying for us. We’ve had a great trip and been able to do more than we had thought. I’m preparing for the trip home right now! Blessings to you.
Keeley
